Why stay home during your summer or school break when you can travel abroad!

Terra Lingua USA offers a variety of programs to meet any need and just because they are shorter times does not mean you will be treated any less important. We are proud to say that we run our summer and short term programs with the same attention to detail, professionalism, and safety as our long term programs. Here are some of our choices.

SUMMER AND SCHOOL BREAK STAYS


Summer/ School Break Homestay
How exciting to spend a summer abroad! Here you will stay with a great family and learn all about the culture and customs in the U.S. BUT you will also get to do tons of fun stuff! Our families love to show their students all of the local attractions and sights. All states are available and depending on where you stay there is always lots to see and do.

Programs run for 2-8 weeks from June 25 to August 1.
Groups are also welcome.
Add-on excursions are available for an additional charge.

Summer Place

This fun-filled day for grades 5-9 begins at 9:00 am and doesn’t stop until 4:00pm Monday through Friday. Campers choose 3 recreational activities each morning and 2 enrichment activities in the afternoon Session I June 29- July 10 Session II July 13 – July 24 Session III July 27 – August 7

Recreational activities include: Archery, Basketball, Board Games, Fitness Training, Flag Football, Swimming, Soccer, Street Hockey, Swim Lessons, Tennis, Dance, Yoga, Baseball/Softball, Karate, and Lacrosse.

Enrichment choices include: Animal Interns, Clash of Clans, Clay Creations, Comedy, Computer Animation, The Dark Room, Dinner’s On, Learning the Ropes, Mission to Mars, Rocketry, Tie It/Dye It, Viral Videos, The Learning Zone, Acting, Checkmate Chess, Chocolate Cravings, Crime Scene Investigating, Minecraft Mission, Darkroom Photos, Think Big, TV Production, Upcycle, X Marks The Spot, Art Tees, Candy Crush, Dance, E-Textiles, Pasta Paradise, Wilderness Survival, Woodburning, Mosaic Art, Superpaint, Wicked Good Candles, Woodworking, Melting Pot, Slideshow, The Power of Paper, Strategic Commanders, Spa Days, Costume Shop, Crash Test Dummies, Digital iPainting, All About Apps, Slideshow, and Splatter Paint! Whew!!

Inclusive program includes all transportation, homestay with full room and board, program costs. Mandatory insurance needed.

Summer Place U
Summer Place U mixes a university classroom experience with a college prep class and camp fun thrown in. Students will take Psychology 101 (Session II or Creative Writing (Session III) in the morning alongside university students. Then it’s a quick dip in the pool before the afternoon fun begins. Afternoons are spent learning study skills, college selection, college application, essays and includes visits from local university representatives. Students will be provided with resources, support, and skills that will enhance their academic, career and personal success!

Each session runs Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30 pm Session II July 13 – July 24 Psychology 101
Session III July 27 – August 7 Creative Writing

Inclusive program includes all transportation, homestay with full room and board, program costs. Mandatory insurance needed.

Summer Day Camp
Experience the outdoors at this fun camp for boys and girls of all ages. Each week is a different adventure! Located on a 280 acre Nature Preserve this camp has a working farm, lake, trails, and learning classrooms. Spend the summer learning and having fun! Stay with a host family. Choose from weekly experiences such as farm hand, water sports, fort building, archery, survival skills, photography, rocket building, Aikido, fishing, swimming, hiking, and animal science to name a few!

Programs range from 2-10 weeks

SHORT TERM


Our short term academic programs are designed to give you a taste of studying in the U.S. without a long-term commitment. In most cases you can enter the program any time during the school year (Aug-June) and the program lasts 2-3 full months. This program is available with limited opportunities on F1 visa. You will not gain credit for your classes but will be held to the same expectations as U.S. students.

Terms

  • Applications must be submitted no later than 10 weeks prior to requested start date.
  • Students in grades 7-12 may apply.
  • Students are placed in their current grade.
  • Credit will not be given.
  • Students must meet a minimum English proficiency test score.
  • All standard school immunizations will be required.
  • F1 visa programs offer a full day of classes.
